FROM PIONEER
TO WORLD MARKET LEADER
It all started with a courageous decision: in 1895, Felix Hermann Maria Schoeller, the son of a family with a long tradition as papermakers, set himself the goal of producing photographic base paper for the photographic market that was just beginning to burgeon. A year later, the first paper machine started up in Burg Gretesch near Osnabrück. Over 110 years later, the Felix Schoeller Group is a family business with worldwide operations, 2400 employees, eight production sites and a leading position on the global market. After more than a century, the business is still in the hands of the family that founded it. This gives the Schoeller Group a position of independence that is a contributing factor to its success.
