Digital ESG promissory note for the Felix Schoeller Group

A successful end to the year for the Felix Schoeller Group. In 2021, the family-owned company again issued a digital promissory note via the finpair platform. This time, for the first time, with an ESG reference. The ESG element in corporate financing is a consistent further step towards holistic sustainability for the globally active speciality paper manufacturer. The Felix Schoeller Group has already had its ESG performance regularly certified by the EcoVadis rating agency since 2018.

The new loan met with great interest among investors. In addition to existing investors, the investment was also placed with selected new investors. "The current market situation has enabled us to extend existing promissory note loans ahead of schedule and to secure the current low interest rate level for the longer term. With the ESG element, we are demonstrating a clear and measurable commitment to sustainability, also to our investors," reports Matthias Breimhorst, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Felix Schoeller Group.

Christian Müller, authorised signatory at finpair GmbH, adds: "Thanks to the approach we made to existing investors in advance, we were able to achieve optimal pricing and expand our investor base in a targeted manner. Our platform facilitated access to investors and streamlined the process overall. As part of its sustainability strategy, the digital promissory note platform finpair has decided to plant 100 trees for every transaction completed. "We are delighted that, thanks to our transaction, we have been able to support finpair GmbH in its commitment and one hundred trees have been planted in a specially created piece of forest," said Swen Klodner, Senior Vice President Finances at the Felix Schoeller Group.

The promissory note is used for general corporate financing. It was issued exclusively via the digital platform.
