The Felix Schoeller Group, a specialty paper manufacturer headquartered in Osnabrück, has taken 2nd place in "Germany's Best Employers 2021" in the category of building materials, metals and materials in a study conducted by the German magazine Stern and the market research institute Statista. For the study, more than 47,500 employees were asked via professional online panels whether they could recommend their own company and companies in their industry as employers.

For the second time, Stern magazine and the market research institute Statista have investigated who the most popular employers in Germany are. In summer 2020, 47,500 employees were anonymously asked how they rated their current employer and other companies in their sector. A total of 1.73 million assessments were collected from companies in Germany with more than 500 employees.

The Felix Schoeller Group is pleased to have come second in the Construction Materials, Metals and Materials category. "It makes us proud to have won the silver medal within our category," says Rainer Höcker, HR Manager at the Felix Schoeller Group. "As a family business, we have always relied on mutual trust. We give our employees personal responsibility, the means to succeed and the space to grow. I am pleased that the survey result reflects the satisfaction of our employees," Rainer Höcker continued.

Influence of the Corona pandemic

The Corona pandemic is a challenge for employees and employers alike. Especially in difficult times, it becomes clear whether employees are satisfied with their employer. As Stern magazine and Statista conducted their survey last summer after the first lockdown, the way the pandemic was handled had an influence on the results of the study. The Felix Schoeller Group handled the situation very responsibly when the pandemic began. "Protecting our employees is our top priority. We took many measures at an early stage to contain the risks of infection with Covid-19," says Hans-Christoph Gallenkamp, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the Felix Schoeller Group. "To accompany this, we focused on transparent communication with our employees throughout the pandemic period. Transparency creates trust and cooperation," Gallenkamp continues.

The questionnaire and the evaluation scheme were decided by the Stern editors.
