The IPC Athletics World Championships was held from 21st to 31stOctober 2015 in Doha, Qatar. 1,400 athletes from 22 nations, including 30 German athletes, competed in various disciplines to win medals and starting positions in Rio next year.
One of the athletes was Sebastian Dietz. On the second day of this major sporting event he competed in the discipline shot-put. With an outside temperature of around 36 degrees in the shade, he threw the shot put 14,87 metres in his fifth attempt leaving his nearest rival behind him, the Russian sportsmen Wladimir Swiridow who threw 14,79 metres. Sebastian is now the Paralympic World Champion in shot-put with the gold medal and the starting place for the Summer Olympics in Rio. The top distance of 14,87 metres is also the Champion record – no other athlete in his class has thrown further than Sebastian Dietz this year at an International Paralympic Committee Championship. “And next year we will rock Rio”, said the lucky winner.
The Felix Schoeller Group is very pleased with the outstanding performance and congratulates Sebastian to this great success.
